October 17, 2010

HEY family,
CONGRATS UNCLE CLARK AND AUNT PHYLLIS!!! I am so proud of you. I have been so blessed to serve 7 transfers with couple missionaries around me and I have a testimony of couple missionary work. There is nothing better than the couple missionaries and they raise the bar for us and help us to be more mature. Oh, you will LOVE Italy.
Things are great. Chara and Kader are getting baptized!!!! I don't know if I have explained this story well enough... So, here it goes.
There is a member who is a convert of 5 years. She is from Camores. This is a small muslim country/group of islands near Madagasgar. She moved to France, her husband left her for another woman and moved back to Camores where their 3 oldest children were living with their grandma. She had her little 2 year old baby and that is when she met the sisters. She joined the church and now that 2 year old is 7. Last year Her son, Salim, came up here with 2 goals:
1. Go to university
2. Convert his mom back to Islam
Salim received the Melchizedek priesthood 2 weeks ago and is preparing for a mission.
So, her daughter, Chara, came here a month ago with 2 goals
1. Go to college
2. Convert her mom back to Islam
She is getting baptized the 6th
Kader, her cousin, came here with 2 goals
1 Go to school
2. Get a Navigo (bus, train, RER and metro pass)
He is getting baptized on the 6th as well....

The other day Chara bore her testimony and it shocked me how strong she is. Their prayers are so great and they act like they have been members for years. Things will not be easy, it never is for converts from Muslim to Christianity, but they are receiving blessings so.. They are willing to go through it all.
Salim will baptize both of them.
We pushed back jean claude's dates to the 14th. He feels good about it. He is so great.
Things are going well. I am so happy.
I learned something very important from the bad example of the Utah Jazz... Don't start thinking about what you're going to eat for dinner after the game... in the end of the 4th quarter. It is the end of the 4th quarter for me and  I am going to sprint to the end and not try and think too much of unnecessary things. No regrets here.
Love you all,
Soeur Hulet

1. Did you like the stockings? YES. I am wearing them now. Love them.
2. Were you able to use the items in the package? Haha funny story. Yesterday we had a 7 year old come to church, the neighbor of a member and he was bored during the talks. He was right next to me and I could see that he was about to start making mischief... So, I handed him the little pocket brush you sent... .new formula.... 7year old + Pocket brush= 19 minutes of silence. Thank you for that.
I have been able to use everything. Soeur flood makes fun of my fish oil hahahha I loved the whole box
3. Are you healthy? Yep
4. Do you see the protests and strikes that go on in Paris? (We watched a new report on elders and students protesting the retirement age in Paris) Really, the only terrorists I have met in the area are French people on strike... It makes us immobile and late for things and AH. They vote on Wednesday. Yes... The 16 year olds ditching school and walking around the city have been very noticeable. Really, they are the only things I have to complain about... Opposition in all things, right?
5. Does the Relief Society in Paris have Souper Saturday? Super Saturday, out side of Utah, is an activity for the youth of the stake... No, our Relief society does yoga together on Wednesday nights.... they are so funny.
6. How was Sister Flood's birthday party? It went well. We did a birthday week. Full of everything she has ever wanted in a birthday.
The weather is cold, but ça va.

pictures taken this week end with chara, kader and salim !!thank you for everything you are doing for chara
